Maltese Men's Sheds

They're totally illegal. They are built by local men who have commandeered any unclaimed waterfront land for their shacks. They are built out of leftovers, in some cases possibly sandstone which has been harvested from the battlement walls. They are big enough for one and a weekend guest and house a small kitchen and maybe a bed and the tools to repair their boats. Different men are there each day sanding and painting their rowboats. Fixing things. Most of them are in their 50s and 60s, some are much younger, and like men the world over, look to escape from family and work to go fishing or in some cases just to fiddle and repair and chat.

Yeah. It's an Albany sort of thing in a Maltese setting.
