Found Object
Can a found object be a piece of art? I found this tangle of wire on a friend's farm recently. It looked like ready made art to me, so I attached it to a post (plinth?) and let it work its magic on me. At about 3:30pm each day the sun from the west changes it from a dull knot of rusty wire into a lustrous light catcher. It gives me pleasure and it has some of the qualities of an art piece except it was not made consciously. Da Da!

Art Trouvé, or 'found art'
is a well recognised phenomenon, and it always gives the spirits a lift when an example is brought to our attention. Well done for spotting this curly delight.
Why yes it can! My people still chuckle at my large stick, which I found in a park last December, and served as a Christmas tree in my tiny space. It's still here, adding some nice curves and pleasing lines to the wall. As Jinksy says, if it gives one pleasure...
Looks great! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and can often be shared when another is shown how to see it properly. Seeing is an art.
Oooh, word verification :( but for you I will do it :)
do I have word verification? If I do I'm trying to turn it off.
Hopefully word verification is gone. Let me know if it's not (which would require you to navigate it one more time).
I think it's gone. People often have it activated and don't know it as it doesn't show up for the blog owner's comments. I think when they changed over to the new format it was automatically switched on. Thanks for turning it off :)
Oh, and thanks for looking at my stuff :)
oh yes indeedy it is a work or art and it took you to see it! Thanks for sharing it!
