Coloured
Dark stories of scarlet lives and
secret liasons driven
by unfulfilled dreams
and blind self deception
white lies and blackened reputations
told by the ambitious
for the expedient
without a care for consequence
no interest in the gray
of circumstance
or the glare of reality
illuminated by the reversing lights of history
Enamel hides blemishes and
lies that lay beneath
the manicured surfaces
of shining private lives

Clever use of colors!
very well said about the darker side of life...If only a Ctrl+Z was possible for life...
I loved some of the lines very much:)
Mmmm, sounds suspiciously like my own life!
Families are so fraught with juicy material for us writers. :-)
and there the problem begins.
Lovely poem, Mr Hat.
Fascinating words ... when our family gathers (generations of us) I am amazed at what comes up ~ and out!!!
Very fine words - excellently painted.
Anna :o]
Flowed along nicely indeed. Wouldn't it be fantastic if we could paint out the parts of our past life we regret :-).
I really like "no interest in the gray of circumstance"...nice piece.
I like this - felt like a torment of brush strokes in life's colours we fear most! Deep.
beautiful take.
love your imaginations.
I see people are people everywhere.
Excellent writing. Thank you.
