His most recent publication, Paradiso A Novel, a work of historical fiction, tells the story of his Italian ancestors who arrived in Australia in 1881 after an ill-fated attempt to build a utopian colony in the jungles of New Guinea. Vanuatu
I'm off to Vanuatu for two weeks (Nov 21 to Dec 5) on a community development project.
I'll blog from Port Vila if I can get internet access.
Years ago I was stranded (I didn't mind in the least) at the airport in Fiji ... I met the most charming American couple preparing to live on a sailboat in Vanuatu for a year or two. I will never forget their happiness, their sense of adventure, their throwing caution to the wind attitude - it was contagious and inspiring. I wonder what happened to them ...
